Akebono And Ebc Brake Pads, K&n Air Filter, Ngk Spark Plugs Group Purchase

I am doing another round of group purchase for Akebono and EBC brake pads, K&N air filters and NGK Laser Iridium spark plugs etc. Since I am going to be ordering stuff from overseas and seeing that the last group purchase was more than 6 months ago, making it the perfect time.

To save the trouble of people asking me which brake pad is the best, I have sorted them according to their performance. Of course, there are other factors that also need to be taken into consideration when it comes to brake pads, such as price, amount of brake dust, braking noise etc. So just use the ordering as a rough guide.

1. EBC Redstuff Brake Pads
Redstuff is EBC’s high performance flagship street brake pad that sets new standards in brake performance; brakes like an alligator right from cold and just get better as they heat up. The Kevlar fibre based brake compound enhanced with ceramic particles on the Redstuff makes it a pad that is almost dust free, reduced dust by 60-90%, yet delivers performance braking. Less dust also means less brake disc wear enable them to last twice as long as when used with the more abrasive steel fibre brake compounds. Tests at the UK Motor Vehicle Research Institute have shown Redstuff brake pads to reduce car stopping distance by almost 50 feet from 100 MPH, offering a staggering 30% brake improvement.

2. Akebono EURO Ultra-Premium
Provide exactly the ideal vehicle control and response performance intended by the manufacturers of European makes. The use of highly advanced ceramic brake pad technology allows Akebono’s “EURO” pad line to provide excellent stopping power while extending rotor life and virtually eliminating brake dust. This advanced ceramic compound also help keep the wheels virtually free from dust without compromising the excellent stopping power expect.

3. EBC Greenstuff Brake Pads
Greenstuff is an organic friction materials pad designed for premium street driving, with a high initial brake effect to give drivers confidence from first application of the brake pedal. Greenstuff pad has a deliberately softer compound to improve pedal feel on lighter cars at lower speeds. This resulted in a medium dust material with good lifetime and minimal rotor wear. The Greenstuff pad also creates less dust and the dust is more easily washed off than most. Tests done by the UK Motor Vehicle Research Institute have shown that on a popular hot hatch Greenstuff brake pads are able to stop almost 20 feet quicker than original parts when braking from 60 MPH, offering a huge 15%

4. EBC Ultimax Brake Pads
Ultimax is a quality OEM replacement pad with high friction designed for general replacement use on cars. The Ultimax pad comes with shimmed, chamfered and slotted technology and incorporating EBC unique BRAKE-IN coating for super quick pad bed-in. The Ultimax pad does include a small percentage of steel fibre to achieve its price point, but far less content than comparable priced brake pads where steel fibre content can attain 50% volume. This help to reduce brake disc wear by up to 50% when compared to more abrasive semi metallics brake pads.

NGK Laser Iridium Spark Plugs
Sitable for both THP and VTi engines. These are the stock spark plugs chosen by BMW for Mini John Cooper Works engines and Peugeot for THP200 engines because of their superior ignitability, stable idle, superior anti fouling, improved fuel efficiency and lower emissions. The stock NGK/Beru platinum spark plugs need to be changed every 40,000km. In contrast the NGK Laser Iridium spark plugs have almost twice the longevity, rated to last 80,000-100,000km by NGK.

K&N Air Filters
High performance drop-in replacement air filters. Compared to the stock paper air filter, the K&N air filter provides optimum performance and filtration for smoother acceleration and better fuel economy. What also make these filters better than stock air filter, besides having better filtration, is they are washable and reusable. Just take them out very 80,000km (depending on driving conditions), using the K&N Air Filter Care Service Kit to clean and re-oil them and they are good as new. They are being backed by K&N Million-Mile Limited Warranty. Making them the last air filter you would ever need for your car, in comparison stock air filter has to be changed every 40,000km.

mate cud u advise the suitability and rough pricing for the following on the 308 thp140:

1. ebc red both front and rear
2. ebc green both front and rear - bought b4 from u and know this fits and works
3. akebono both front and rear

No, just too many prices for various brake pads for me to list them all down so I don't bother. And besides, not all brake pads are available for all Peugeot cars since they differ based on car model.

Hi bro, I am new to this forum but have been following for a while.
I love my Pug 308 THP156, but the warranty period just ended. So it is time to find decent upgrades for her without breaking the bank.

My front brakes still gives me the squeal even after i changed to Brembo brake pads. I think an upgrade is needed. Or worst maybe need to change the disk smile_cry.gif

I am interested in the Akebono for front and EBC Redstuff for rear.
Also NGK Laser Iridium Spark Plugs and K&N Air Filters.

If those Brembo brake pads you were referring to are the lower end ones then they are know to be very abrasive and harsh on brake rotors. So don't be be surprised if they are even worse than the stock when it comes to wear on the brake rotors.
