Both Sylphy and Civic are very close in terms of specs they have and price, just sylphy is having slimmer look due to longer body. However i prefer civic as its slightly wider body 1755mm compared to Sylphy 's 1695mm ( Civic also having wider treads vs Sylphy) which give better stability at cornering and higher speed. For suspension and brake wise Civic got rear disk brake + Independent Double Wishbone , Sylphy got only rear drum brake + cheap torsion beam only.Civic also got 205/R16(1.8l)and 215/R17 rims, Slyphy leh got only 195/R15 rim which means u may have to spend more $$ to get equivalent shoe as Civic got. sorry to interupt.... i sat in sylphy before but i dont think the interior is that spacious...
what are the dimensions for sylphy and altis?

Depends how you define spacious, by width, yes, Sylphy is the narrowest based on the good old 1695mm, but it sure is spacious by legroom definition eh smile_tongue.gif

Hi scenic,
Yes I did. I need bigger space. So naturally Sylphy is the best choice for its price.
How's your Altis going? Are you looking for Sylphy as well?

Hi kyl2010,
Your Altis is the latest model ? Did you loose much for selling the Altis ? Me, getting the Sylphy, the temptation is there as I like its seats and leg room space. trink39.gif

cant be deny that slyphy have the largest legroom among all..
which i think only a camry legroom can be compare to slyphy..
but depends on how u define "spacious", if u sat 3 behind, u will understand that altis is a much comfortable car to be in..
the fact that slyphy cushion is shorter, and altis also have a flatter back rest..
so indirectly it give u the "fake" imganiation that slyphy is much spacious than altis...
go sit urself behind 3, den u will get the meaning which is a more comfortable betwwen altis n slyphy.. smile_tongue.gif

You could check out both Toyota and Nissan's website to compare their dimension. The interior of Sylphy is more spacious relative to Altis's and this is specifically significant on its rear leg room.

I remember sylphy cannot sit 3 adults comfortably at the back....it may have sufficient legroom but feel kind of cramp if 3 adults lie back fully (shoulders blocking) due to its small width

Sylphy
Length = 4,610mm
Width = 1,695mm
Wheelbase = 2,700mm

Altis
Length = 4,540mm
Width = 1,760mm
Wheelbase = 2,600mm

Forte
Length = 4,530mm
Width = 1,775mm
Wheelbase = 2,650mm
Interior dimensions
Headroom (Front/Rear) 1015/955 mm
Shoulder Room (Front/Rear) 1415/1390 mm
Hip Room (Front/Rear) 1345/1355 mm
Length 1903 mm
Width 1467 mm
Height 1207 mm

It is true that Sylphy cannot sit three adults comfortably compares to Altis. Sylphy only wins on the rear leg room which sometimes wonder why need such a big rear leg room ? The front foot well of Sylphy also looses out to Altis'. Its central console kind of intrude to your left knee if you are the driver. Head light also definately looses out to Sylphy for its brightness. Cheers.

Comparing interior room would be a good yardstick. Anyone has interior dimension of sylphy?

I think the interior width of sylphy and Altis is almost identical having body of Altis bulge out a little bit more than Sylphy. Whether it's a effective width that we really have to measure and try out. Further, seat cushion also plays an important part. All in all, IMHO, I don't think width of both cars has vast difference.
