Hi adnoc,
Regarding the VS. Initially was doubtful whether it worked or not. I have
been following the VS thread in this forum for quite sometime, until
finally I fitted one also.
The most difference I can find is that my audio definately sounds better.
The bass is stronger and the overall sound clearer.
I have a boost meter fitted earlier. Before fitting VS, every time I switch
on the headlights, it dims slighty and when switch on the spot light, it
dims further. But now, when switch on the headlight, the meter will dim a
moment (like a bling of an eye) and will brighten up again, same goes when
switch on the spot light, however the headlight are not brighter as some
others have mentioned.
Engine also seems to be running smoother.

Have completed my grounding DIY yesterday, now boost meter does not even
bling, when on headlights or spotlights.

Yes, early 1997. The car was actually manufactured at the end of 1996.
There is a battery voltage gauge on the dashboard that allows me to
monitor the state of the battery easily so I have no fear of a dead
battery. Not that I do much monitoring.

Yah!
I've got the same gauge too on my dashboard. So I guess I'll use the
battery until there is a significant drop in reading.

Mine currently reads 12V after sitting overnight but I have measured the
battery voltage directly and it read 12.4V so my voltage meter is slightly
off. That's low but the car works fine.
I suspect that the low voltage is due to dilution of the electrolyte and
am waiting for it to concentrate again as water evaporates. I have a
simple hydrometer to measure electrolyte density.
