Hi Guys, hope to get some inputs here.

My waja CPS check engine light, the ones that looks like a Tap, that is on when the engine is cranked and then disappears sometimes comes on when I am circling in Car Parks looking for Parking. Happened 2x already, felt suddenly loss of power and looked at the dash board and the check engine light is on.

As usual, I tried to switch off the engine and then on again, but the light does not disappear.

It only went off, after I switched off the engine and open the hood and allowed about say 30 min for car to cool down. After that everything was normal again.

Any idea guys ECU Konk,. etc.

Water temp was normal.

Could be just a faulty connection if you have enough engine oil and
yhe oil pump is working.

not sure how to know if the oil pump is working or not

Hi Gunnerzz, thanks for your reply.

To confirm, my light that is on is the one next to the low petrol light and is orange in colour and looks like a tap. It is NOT the one next to the Hand Brake Light which looks like an Oil Lamp / Aladdin Genie Lamp which is red in colour.

I checked my Engine Oil yesterday and the indicator was at the high end of the 2-indicators. I checked

1) Before starting the Car - Cold
2) After starting the Car for about say 10 minutes

The thing I don't understand is that it only comes out if I pusing-pusing too long in a Car Park. Normal driving does not seem to turn on. Any ideas?

It is the check engine light then.
it thats the case u need a diagnostic computer to trace the error.
its easier this way as error code will be stored in the ecu memory.
most shop has the simple diagnose computer now.charge as low as rm20-30 for diagnose only.

i am no familiar with yr model but my 1.8 will have the gb light on when the battery is abt to die.
it will lit up in traffic jam as the current draw during idle is quite high
and the 1.8 model hav a very sensitive electronic which react to the tiny
bit of irregularities and most of the time the ecu treats it as error.
things such as dirty sensor, wet connector and replacement of key sensor
without doing retune.

Tks bro, any ideas how long will the code be stored in the memory. Only have time to check over the weekend.

Not sure but for some campro model it will erase the error code automatically after a set number of times u start
the engine.the ecu treats it as a one off event and not a failure.

Hi Bro, send my Car to my regular mechanic and they used a gadget to hook up to my Car to do a scan.

After few minutes, called me over and showed me that the scanner detected a 'Throttle Control Sensor error'.

Does makes sense, when the light lit up my car showed loss of power and sometimes, when I crank, the car cannot start and I have to crank and step on the throttle at the same time, then only the car fires up.

Was quoted parts and labour, RM300. Is it reasonable?
