Hi all

Yesterday I serviced my Elegan for it's 4000km in Shah Alam Modenas
Service Centre. I got there at 8:50am and left there at 12 noon. The
changed the motor oil (self provided) and the gear oil. They charged me
$15 ($8 for labor and $7 for gear oil). As soon as I left, I realised
that my speedometer did not work. So I sent it back and it took another
20 minutes wait. The service level and quality, long wait is poor! I
won't go back there again.

Do you have any good service centre to recommend in PJ area (SS2, Bandar
Utama, Kelana, Tmn Tun area), please advice - thanks!

There are different guidelines for Elegan servicing advice on various
parts:

Spark Plug - every 6000km(manual)Or 10,000km? (svs centre recommendation)
Belt - every 6000km (manual) or 10,000km?
Black Oil Change - 2000km? (manual) or 2,500km?
Gear Oil - every 4000km (both manual and svs centre recommendation)

You can try the Modenas dealer at Sect. 14 near Jaya Supermarket. There's
also another workshop beside it.

Thanks for the note ......for a moment I had the feeling most of the
Elegan forum readers did not have any regular service experience.

I believe the Section 14 bike is PJ Wong Motor. And there is another
scooter shop next to it. I've services there once ...and my observation
is that their $$$ comes from selling bikes. So servicing bikes is a "by-
the-way" effort. It's ok for simple regular servicing works. But if you
need most comprehensive checks/tuning, better go to a mechanic who does
servicing for a living.

Come on guys, please give more inforamtion about the mechanic and
workshops that provides good scooter servicing ok.

So far I have got 4k on the speedo. 1st and 2nd service I send to the
shop in Taman Tun to service. Beli kat situ, use the free service coupon.
The last one I service at Kelana Jaya SS5. I just told the guy to service
the thing and looks like he is very meticulous. Open up and tighten
everything etc. etc. Ganti minyak synthetic and all. But the bill seems
high at RM87. Rasa macam kena con je...

My observation on the bike after 4k is that the suspension is getting
plusher, more comfortable. Fuel consumption is getting higher - or maybe
its because I am riding it faster (first time bawak motor so more
confident = go faster). RM8 will get me about 140km only. Betul ke ni ?
Then there is this issue with my fuel gauge, leave home at kelana jaya
two bar indicated, arrive Jalan Yap Kwan Seng its blinking ! Usually, two
bar will last quite some time before going to one bar then blinking. Why
ahhh ?

Pergi long distance memang sedap. Err my long distance is from PJ to
Pedas Linggi onlylah. Stable and boleh potong kereta lagi on the highway.
My max speed registed by speedo only 120km/h. Then no more power. Apart
from the Gilera VXR 200, any other scooter yang seharga dengannya can
adress this issue ?

Thats all for now, thank you for all the input that lead me to purchase
this bike. Its truly a great daily commuting tool especially for tailing
the kapchais during traffic jam. Orang tengok takut je sebab the elegan
looks big but kalau kapcai boleh lepas elegan pun lepas.

Errr cukuplah, to master wong, davistan etc. gong xi fa cai. Yang lelain
tu selamat menyambut awal muharram.

Spark Plug - every 6000km(manual)Or 10,000km?
- I' ve never changed the spark plug since I bought the elegant... clock
in 10,000km
the engine still ok ...
starting the engine no problem
fuel comsumption still ok

Belt - every 6000km (manual) or 10,000km?
I'v not yet opened the casing and view the belt. But what i heard from
others 10,000km the belt still ok if there is no oil leak gets into the
belting. According to my scooter mechs - belts change aroung 20,000km
servicing the automatic pulley assembly at 10,000km.
I think I am going to services and change the belts at 18,000km

Black Oil Change - 2000km? (manual) or 2,500km?
Ive change the lub oil at 3,000km . the oil very dirty. I think 2500km is
nice

Gear Oil - every 4000km (both manual and svs centre recommendation)
Ive change the gear oil at 4000km. the gear oil still crystal clear. next
gear oil change is at least 5000km-6000kms.

Hi all,

My Elegance clocking 2500KM oledi now.
Just wanna share the FC with u guys..

1st day my bike came out from shop, i put Shell for RM10.00 and can get
175km..
Then again RM10.00 touch for 155km to 165km...
Both situation i run about 100-110km/h ..
Then try RM10.00 can go till 145 to 150km speed @ 120km/h
And my last try is RM10.00 can get 200km @ 80km/h..

So this mean that our bike is save whenever below 90km/h and will 'makan'
whenever touch 100km/h and above..

Anyone experienced this?

The FC for my bike, I can go about 200-220km on full tank of roughly rm10.
I ride on mixed road, 80/20 highway/normal road. Seldom stuck in heavy
unmoving traffic. On highway I usually ride about 90-120, depend on wind
condition. Maybe because you guys always stuck in heavy traffic, that's
why the FC is a bit high. My bike thermometer, so far the high it goes is
2 point, most of the time only 1.

about the thermo, usually if i ride in the afternoon, the bar will go till
3 than the fan will activate and reduce back the bar to 1..
in morning (ride out from home @ 530am) the bar will shows only 1 all the
time till i reach office..

for the FC, it's still remain the same (if i ride 80km/h can get 220km for
RM10/= while if i ride more than that will get only 160 - 170km)..
