haa topan, the comment on driver is just a tease....Tongue

japs and koreans quality won't defer much. infact koreans are catching
fast.

protons is on it's own standard and should not be used to compare with any
other made.

Just for the interest of this post, I still believe PC10 got the bad apple.
I had a proton before for 5 years. Not a single major prolem, power window
works fine, boot not leaking..guess i am lucky Smile

80% local content..!! Yes that is right.

- FORD RANGER = also CKD
- D-MAX = also CKD
- HILUX = also CKD
- STORM = also CKD
- FIGHTER = also CKD
- FRONTIER = also CKD

But..!!! I don't think they made all their parts(excluding engine & gear
box) by themself. I mean they won't manufactured their parts, but has to
order them from certain factory/company and its must be a Malaysian
factory/company. My point is, why they has a different quality
manufactured parts? Is FORD/ISUZU/MITSUBISHI/MAZDA has ordered from a
profesional dan qualified Factory for their parts and the Tan Chong
ordered from an amateur dan not qualified Factory ?????

CKD or CBU ...

it depends on the assembler's choice of vendors.

Even local vendors can produce good parts... but question is whether the
assmebler wants to use such high standard parts.

In the end, we get similar looking car but with lower quality parts (?)??

hey pc10, since your ride produces musical tunes, might as well bear with
it unless you have the dough to buy another vehicle otherwise bring it
offroad, a few nasty shakes and bumps and who knows...no more musical
tunes...!! hehehe Big Smile

Or put on extreme mud tyres... sure can`t hear anything else after that!

but seriously, I think you got a badly assembled unit.

Brother`s got a frontier, 15k km already. No prob. Quiet inside. Doors
are solid. No rattles.

PC10, put beeeg beeg tyres and then take it offroad like lluminox said.
Then you dont have to worry about the musical tunes `cos it'll be
replaced by others... Cool

Yes.

That is why people are buying CBUs... otherwise why do they want to pay
more for the same car assembled locally?

PC10, perhaps you can bring your problem to Tan Chong and complain since it
is still under warranty.
