Kelisa 1 can last me for 2++ yrs,but monroe radial matic was disappoint me.... angry.gif

Wah ...

That tauke so confident telling me Monroe made in USA better and have 1 year warranty to back it up whereas other brands won't get 1 year warranty. And how the Monroe has a bigger shaft (which is true). But like Vincent1 said, so far I'm finding them ok.

Hmm ...Looks like immediately after warranty ends I may be needing new absorbers!

Next time, I will try Kayaba or just stick to the ori APM. And won't go to that shop anymore!

Hi all.I don;t think radial matic is good coz mine only use for 1 year,i would say it's too soft.First few month i use is ok,after that u can feel that it'll eventually hit the base whenever i drive thru even a small bump.I also plan to change to a good one.Anyone got any good absorber to recommend for Kelisa? The original Kelisa 1 can last me for 2++ yrs,but monroe radial matic was disappoint me.... angry.gif

i think it's the spring which is supposed to support the car's weight, the dampers is supposed to dampen the spring oscillation

Any recommendations which spring to use? Ori? Upon further driving my car, even though the ride is better and the road surface not felt that much, when I go over a big hump or pothole I heard a rubbery thud from behind.

I see that the rubber stop on top of the spring has make it marks on the base below.

Can the spring need replacement after 4 years of use?

I've finished replacing the ori rear shock absorbers on my 04 kelisa. Surprise .. surprise .. the ori ones are not Kayaba.

You can see the APM markings and the other pic shows the the word Tokico. APM is known to produce absorbers in collaboration with Tokico.

Maybe not all models of Kelisa were fitted Kayaba rear absorbers? I wonder what the front absorbers are? dry.gif

By the way, how do you make the images bigger?

p2 vendor for rear absorber not only kayaba. it's either APM or KYB. like radiator also. either APM or DENSO. so, it depends on luck. mine got denso radiator and kyb absorber.

after 2yrs...change to monroe. now the monroe one already exceed 3 yrs and reaching 4 years this march.

Car feels like a boat. Floating everywhere. The bounce test is so not accurate. Before and after I changed the absorber, the car still bounced the same. Anyway I think the bounce test have to overcome the spring action rather than the absorber.

Unless you know what a worn absorbers feel like, the really best way is to take out the absorber and try to compress and extend it assuming you hv a good absorber nearby to compare with ha ha.

Other than that, oil around the shaft meaning leakage past the seal, mine was oily. Also one of old absorbers when I was removing it made a hissing sound.

The monroe website says an absorber can typically last 50k miles (sorry too lazy to convert to km)
