Hi bros,
I drive a 2011 407 pug. Recently I hit a bump (you know the round metal used to close the hole on the road) an elevated bump.
3 days later, I got "Low Oil" warning when about to start the engine. I checked the car under and found out dripping oil. When checked the dip stick it seems no more engine oil in the tank.
Jacked my car and I found scratches and a crack under the engine oil "tank".
Do you guys know how much roughly does it cost to replace it (labour)? and the price of the spare parts (new / used)?
Any other method to repair it other than replacing it e.g. welding etc.
Thanks

replacing could be very very expensive.... maybe around rm2k including labours....
if aluminium alloy can be repaired...remove the oil pan and send it to engineering machine shop to weld shut the leak/crack

Ok, a friend of mine also said that welding is possible. Any idea of the rough charge for welding + labour?
Is the dismantling and installing the oil pan is too labour-intensive? or mechanics can just dismantle it from the under carriage (no need to dismantle the engine from the top etc)?
Thanks

usually can be easily removed thru bottom of the car....
most only required new oilpan gasket and sealanst....
about repair job i would say price start from rm70 upwards maybe maxed at rm200.....depend on how severe the crack and how big weld area needed....

Hopefully, u have solved the problem. I also have the same experience on 2013. Had to replace it with the used oil sump. It only cost me RM270 from the half cut dealer, but ada bekas welding. After 6 months, noticed the oil leaking. Now, I'm thinking to change a new one or try to find a used but with proper condition. Let me know if yours is working ok as you did the welding job for your oil sump.
