Hi,

Has anyone installed an after market TPMS unit on your pug? Any feedback on pros & cons so far?

Did some research and Tyre Dog is the only External TPMS available and it does seems it's very easy to be installed.
But the big valve cap could attract thieves even though it's came with a security tightener.
The receiver operates on AAA batteries and has a sleep-mode where it'll go on a sleep-mode/hibernate if the sensor(tyre) has been detected idle for some time.
Others may require to add additional wiring to tap power from the battery or use the cigarette plug (don't like this as it looks messy). Before this, SA asked me to check with KS whether our PUG308T's system has TPMS built in but locked/hidden.
KS SA asked me.. what is TPMS?? comp26.gif
After explaining to him, then he asked around his colleagues.. itu kereta pug308T ada tpms dalam ke takda?.. gosh..
I just need to know whether there's a hidden feature where we can buy OEM sensors and asked them to mapped to the hidden TPMS receiver but it took quite a while for them to conclude there isn't.

Thanks. Attached some pics on 3rd party TPMS.

Tyre Dog (External Sensor)

DK (Internal Sensor)

The 3rd Eye Sensor (Internal Sensor)

Apparently, 3M also selling TPMS.. tongue.gif

Yours should have..
Other pugs I know have this feature is the 407 and 308GT.. Maybe you may want to ask your SA how to use it.. view tyre pressure of all your tyres as well as setting threshold when to trigger an alarm.. it's a very useful feature for pro-actively monitoring your tyre and get to know whether you have a punctured tyre way before it goes totally flat..

One guy named quicksave is selling TyreDog and also DK and offered installation in his shop in sunway.. he posted in some forums..
I don't know how much it costs.. still researching whether external ones are better than internal sensors.. hmmm..
if get stolen.. (for external installation), one sensor is averaging around rm100++.. that's quite a bit of pocket damage.. sigh..
Or we can get cheaper ones via group buy?.. lol...
