I am driving the E200k W210. Good car, enough power for a 4 cyclinder.
Top speed I have tried is abt 190km/h, then run out of space, too many
cars on the road. I get good mileage with it, esp on highways. Just drove
it down to KLIA and back this morning. The Kompressor engine gives it
more power, esp when climbing hills and overtaking.

E240 V6 cost more and higher fuel consumption as well. All depends on yr
requirements. I see a lot of E200K for sale W210 now yr 2000 or 2001. Not
very high specs, I think some of these cars are coming from next door
Singapore. Being imported as UK Spec cars.

been busy with work recently.....

Is that so seanreuben? Hmmm... well my perdana can do also 190kmh but
without any need for kompressor/supercharger... hehehe just kidding
there. Well sean, I think when people buy merc they're less concerned on
fuel cost(I think), so what's an extra 400cc is there(though that will
translate into an extra RM500 yearly for road tax!).My main concern when
purchasing a merc is that it should have all the quality I expect from a
luxury car, with particular attention to a very, very low NVH-
noise, vibration and harshness. But whatever it is, thanks for the
feedback, I think an extensive test drive will conclude which one suits
me, especially a high speed run on highway. Btw, which dealership you get
your merc, and any problems with it, big, small or annoying issues?

I bought my car off the 1st owner. This was a locally assembled model by
C&C. I dont have any problems (touchwood) yet, minor stuff send back to
C&C since still under warranty. Car comes with 3 yrs warranty. Car can
definitely run faster than 190km/h, just havent found space to push it.

In my experience the UK spec is a better buy....although the milage is
high the drive is anytime better than the japan spec or local.I own 4
cars,a 2000 E240 2.4V6 local,a 1999 S280 japan spec,a 1996 BMW 728i and a
1994 C220 UK spec...the Drive of the UK spec is anytime better than the
japan spec or local. In quality wise,i hear alot of squeaks n creaks from
both my E and S class...the 1994 C220 UK spec is my work car,it is used
everyday and parked under the sun,it still feels the most solid afthe all
these years.I have driven most of da Mercs and im dissapointed with da
new models because they are not as reliable and strong as the old
models. If you really want bad ass power, dont bother buying a merc V6,its
hopeless when you have driven a BMW.The car i admire the most is my 1996
BMW 728i UK spec.

Daily cars:S280,728i,E240,c220 and a honda civic.

Hi BimMerc,

Wow! You are such a lucky person to own a few best cars from BMW & Merc.
I started to switch to Merc only 6 months ago. Unfortunately, I do not
have friends that driving e240 W210 V6 Avantgarde imported from UK. My
year 2000 E240 is now running 25cent per km in city drive and 19 cents
per km in highway. How about yours? Sorry that I am a bit anxious to find
out this matter because I really don't know whether my car is in good
condition or not?

Kind to share yours?

Cheers,

Take an advangarde uk version if possible. Cornering and stability is
enchanced.

Just like every car for sale- have the car checked by a qualified staff
before paying.
Buy from people who have receipts to show regular maintainance and servicing.
Use only mercedes authorized parts.
